Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire Apple Valley Insulation Company to do. When you browse the site, ask for an estimate or approve a job, you're agreeing to them, so please read them first.
If you don't agree with something here, please don't use the site or book work with us. Call us at (651) 268-6025 and we'll answer your questions before you decide.
Who we are and what we do
Apple Valley Insulation Company is an insulation contractor in Apple Valley, MN. We're licensed and insured, and we work in homes and businesses in Apple Valley and the cities around it. You can read more about our crew on our About page or start from our home page.
Our work includes attic, wall, basement and crawl space insulation, blown-in and spray foam, air sealing, vapor barriers and removing old insulation. The service pages on this site describe the work in general terms. Your written estimate, not the website, sets out exactly what we'll do at your house.
Estimates and pricing
We give free in-person estimates with no obligation, because we can't price an attic or a crawl space we haven't seen. The estimate lists the work, the materials and the price for the conditions we could see that day.
Some things only show up once the job is open, like old insulation that's wet or full of droppings, gaps hidden under the old material, or framing that's taken on moisture. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you and explain the options. We won't do added work or charge more for it until you approve it.
An estimate stays good for the period written on it. After that, we may need to update it if material costs or the condition of your house have changed.
Scheduling, rescheduling and cancellation
We set your job date once you approve the estimate. Weather, material delivery and conditions on earlier jobs can push a date, and if that happens we'll call you as soon as we know and find the next workable day.
If you need to move or cancel, call us at (651) 268-6025 as early as you can, so we can give the slot to someone else. If materials were ordered or work already started for your job, you'll pay for those, as your estimate describes.
For spray foam and some other products, you and your family, including pets, need to stay out of the work area until the re-entry time, which is when it's safe to come back in. We'll tell you that time before the job starts, and you agree to follow it.
Payment
Your estimate states the price, any deposit and when the balance is due. Unless the estimate says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.
If a payment is late, we may pause any remaining work until the account is current, and you'll be responsible for reasonable costs of collecting what's owed, as Minnesota law allows.
Your house and access during the job
You agree to give our crew safe access to the attic, crawl space or other work areas on the scheduled day, and to tell us about anything we should know, like wiring problems, past leaks or pests. Please move stored items out of the way where you can, because a clear path keeps the job faster and protects your things.
We'll protect floors and the path to the work area, and we'll clean up our own debris when we're done.
Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover
Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something we installed isn't right, call us and we'll come back and make it right.
The guarantee covers our workmanship. It doesn't cover damage from roof or plumbing leaks, pests, storms, other trades working in the space after us, or changes someone else makes to the insulation. Insulation products carry their own manufacturer warranties, and those makers, not us, decide what their warranties cover.
Apart from the guarantee above and any manufacturer warranty, we don't promise a particular drop in your power bill or a particular indoor temperature, because those depend on your heating and cooling system, your windows, the weather and how the house is used.
Limits on our liability
To the extent Minnesota law allows, our liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We aren't responsible for indirect losses, like lost use of a room or higher utility costs, or for problems caused by conditions in the house that existed before we arrived and weren't part of the work you hired us for.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law doesn't let a business take away.
Using this website
The information on this site is general and meant to help you understand insulation work. It isn't advice for your specific house, and it doesn't replace an in-person look.
Some pages may link to other websites, like a city office or a product maker. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for what's on them.
The words, photos and design on this site belong to Apple Valley Insulation Company. Please don't copy them for commercial use without asking us first.
Settling a disagreement
If you're unhappy with anything, call us first at (651) 268-6025 or reach us through our contact page. Most problems get fixed with a conversation and a return visit, so give us the chance to look at it.
If we can't work it out together, both sides agree to try mediation in good faith before either one goes to court.
Minnesota law applies
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. Any court case about them will be heard in a state or federal court in Minnesota.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies. A job you've already approved stays under the terms that were in place when you signed the estimate, unless we both agree in writing to change them.
